Additions:
3) Click in the Start Menu and hit Run... write "cmd" and hit OK to have a DOS Shell. Run the command: "ipconfig /all". Find the Discription of your original hardware and and write down the value after "Physical Address" (it's the MAC address), it's something like 00-11-22-33-44-55

Additions:
1) Re-assemble your computer with the old hardware
2) Install the correspondent drivers if required
3) Click in the Start Menu and hit Run... write "cmd" and hit OK to have a DOS Shell. Run the command: "ipconfig /all". Find the Discription of your original hardware and and write down the value after "Physical Address", its something like 00-11-22-33-44-55
4) Remove the old hardware again and re-assemble the new one again in case you had to disassemble it in the process.
5) You should be back to the original situation of getting the "Missing Information" message. Repeat step 3 and write down the Physical Address of your new hardware in case you want / have to change it again to it's original value.
6) Go to the Control Panel, and enter the System icon. Find the Hardware tab and enter into the Device Manager. Find your new Network Adapter and double click it. Go to the Advanced tab and find "Network Address" in the Property list. In the Value field enter the old hardware's Physical Address without the "-"'s and click okay.
7) Repeat step 3 and check if the modification went okay. Reboot your computer and check it again.
8) If everything worked fine, rFactor should start with no problem. If an Internet Explorer window appears saying you cannot connect to the internet, you'll probably have to perform the date trick explained above:
9) Set your system date to one year ahead and click "apply"
10) Start rFactor, there should be no internet explorer window appearing. As rFactor starts set the date to the current year and click "apply" -> Problem should be solved.
9) If the MAC Address modification wasn't possible, i.e. the hardware didn't accept it, you should try the Method 2 present in this link: http://www.nthelp.com/NT6/change_mac_w2k.htm
